Corballis Coastal Cottage

Looking out over the Malahide Estuary, the Corballis coastal cottage was designed to converge the beautiful setting right outside the door with the family’s roots in Uganda.

Artwork was sourced in Uganda, and with one piece specially commissioned of the three children made out of fabrics worn by them growing up. Materials and colour tones also reference both Uganda and Ireland throughout.

Ugandan kente fabric was used on upholstery throughout and mixed with Irish velvets to give warmth and a sense of place in this new home. Ugandan influenced clay blocks were used to separate the dining room and living area, and the pebbles used on the polished concrete floor were selected to reference the estuary sand right out the front.
